What is the ecos Workflow Calibration Information System?

With ecos Workflow CIS (Calibration Information System), EMCO-TEST provides effective support for standard-compliant verification of your hardness tester. The new, integrated calibration support significantly reduces the workload, while helping you to ensure standards-compliant verification and documentation on the hardness tester. At the same time, the user can depend on EMCO-TEST's expertise as an accredited calibration laboratory, DIN member and active member of several standards committees.

The up-to-date actual software version is named V.2.20.To check, if the latest version is installed on your hardness tester, just go to your splashscreen. The splashscreen shows you the status quo of you software version.

PLEASE NOTE: EMCO-TEST accepts no liability for verification of the hardness testing machine in compliance with applicable standards. Performance of a standards-compliant inspection of the hardness testing machine requires strict adherence to the relevant standards requirements, which in turn requires that the operator possesses technical knowledge extending beyond the information stored in ecos Workflow CIS. In order to ensure standards-compliant calibration, please contact an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration laboratory.

 

There are clear advantages to using ecos Workflow CIS if standard-compliant operation of your hardness tester is important to you:

What is a periodic verification?

The periodic verification is performed by the user on a calibrated test block and must be done at an interval, depending on test method and standard, extending from one day to one week.

What is an indirect verification?

Subject to the method and standard, indirect testing requires multiple measurements on up to three test blocks of differing hardness. The limit deviation and repeatability of these measurements must lie within the limits defined in the standards for the test to be passed.

An indirect test must be performed if:

  • The periodic test was unsuccessful
  • The last indirect test (or calibration) was performed over 12 months ago

 

The indirect test must be performed no later than 13 or 14 months (depending on the selected method and standard) after the last indirect verification (or calibration), otherwise a direct verification must also be performed. A successfully performed, standards-compliant indirect inspection extends the validity of the calibration certificate, in accordance with the applicable ISO and ASTM hardness testing standards, by another 12 months!

Efficient management of calibration data

Test sequence: Simple operation

In order to be able to use ecos Workflow CIS properly, at least one method must be calibrated on the machine and you must have at least one calibrated test block for that method. The data from the calibration certificates for the methods and test blocks can easily be entered and managed in the settings menu. The certificates can also be saved in PDF format.

Highly safe due to simple operation

ecos Workflow CIS is active after at least one method has been configured. This means that the hardness tester will now inform you of all upcoming inspections and guide you through the tests. The intervals between the tests, their performance and calculation of the tolerance values correspond to the definitions in the respective EN ISO or ASTM standards.

Both periodic verification (daily or weekly) and indirect verification can be performed by the user in accordance with standards. The specified processes are saved in the assistant, which guides the user step by step through the inspection.

All tests are saved and displayed with a clear overview. Statistical and graphical representations can be displayed easily for each calibrated method. The trend display makes deviations and tendencies in precision easier to recognize early. A calendar view also provides an overview of all activities and verifications.
