| A uniquely high test load range. |
|
|
| |
The greater test load range from 0.98 up to 306.6 N (0.1 up to 31.25 kgf) in comparison to the traditional dead load is possible due to the use of electronic load surfacing technology. Cover a big test load range of micro, low-load and macro hardness testing with only one machine.

ecos - emcotest control system
ecos has been specially developed by EMCO-TEST as integrated software for hardness testing machines with network and host connections as well as a wide range of software modules. Combined with the M1C ecos provides an ideal symbiosis between hardness testing technology and functional software. In addition the further development and maintenance of ecos software also ensures optimal operation.

|
Easy generation of test runs
Test points can be created comfortably on the grid in the test point editor. It is also possible to create every single test point via input of coordinates. Another, even more elegant option with row measurements is offered by the line and polygon line tool. Test rows can be adapted automatically to the work piece outline. Compliance with standard test distances (e.g. test distance = 3x diagonal) can also be set using an integrated tool.
|

|
|
Keep track
A special overview camera has been designed to help keep track of tests with several test points and progression rows. With the aid of this unique technique an overview image of the complete run is created (approx. 40 x 50 mm) in which all test rows can be created clearly.
The fade-in of grids, subsidiary lines and leader lines with displacement possibility for edges can ease your task considerably.
Furthermore, the image can be customised as required by means of digital zoom and can be integrated into the test report.

|
|
Positioning via overview camera
The picture of the work piece eases the direct setting of the test points in the relevant test zones. The example shows the typical test point allocation of a welding test in basic material, heat affected zone and welding joint. |

| Universal data availability. |
| All test information clearly documented. |
| |

|

Efficient data management
The multiplicity of measurement values arising from broad-based
quality assurance, demand the highest possible degrees of precision and
availability of the data system supported OS systems. Therefore the
complete documentation and secure allocation of measurement data to the
corresponding work piece is exceedingly relevant. The export tool
integrated into the ecos software offers the necessary interface. The
danger of data errors when recording is reduced to a minimum. |
|
Individual data export function
All hardness testing data can be forwarded in ASCII format to work
with in different applications or to put in the archive. There are
various freely definable export schemes with arbitrary data filters.
Software ecos is already prepared for Q-DAS. A custom link-up to your
Q-DAS data system is possible by means of the "ecos SPC" software
module.
Test image integrated into A4-test report
Test report can be displayed clearly with all relevant
information. The test image of the overview camera, created during the
testing, is also integrated. Measurement charts, statistic graphs,
progressions and user-specific user fields can also be displayed in the
report.

|
Maximal repetition precision
due to fully automatic image analysis
Each surface reflects light differently, so one important
precondition for automatic image analysis of hardness impressions is
optimal lighting and contrast. ecos facilitates the definition of
different surface adjustments depending on material and surface
characteristics such as with etched, very dark or reflective surfaces. These adjustments are stored together with load and magnification. This
ensures a material is always tested under the same conditions,
regardless of who is operating the system, and guarantees the highest
degree of reproducibility.

|
|
Change of test method within 2 seconds
The numerous test methods can be deposited in the software and selected as required. In combination with the 4-fold measurement turret the correct indentor is swivelled-in automatically. The indentation is measured with the corresponding lens. The changing of indentors and lenses becomes unnecessary, thus avoiding expensive calibration times and possible operation errors.

|
The latest auto-focus technology
Compared to conventional focussing systems this solution offers
the advantage of quick and clear automatic focussing, even on complex
sample surfaces such as cauterisations. The auto-focus is based on the
principle of direct force measurement, in which the integrated load
cell registers exactly when the indentor touches the surface. So the
focussing section is already recognized during the test run. As a
result the testing of non plane parallel grinded samples is possible
without time loss.

Complex tests with minimal training.
|
| |

Especially when testing identical parts this solution offers a big time and costs savings. Operation of the machine is reduced to the selection of pre-defined test patterns. In this way test results, even for complex tests, can be achieved quickly and clearly with minimal staff training.

|
|
Complete accuracy
The principle of electronically controlled and permanently monitored load application secures vital benefits.
This facilitates deceleration-free, automatic changing of the test load within a test run. In addition the test load is applied directly due to the closed loop and a force excess or shortfall is ruled out.

Maintenance-free load application
Friction influences in the guiding system depend on dirt and environmental conditions. These will be recognized and automatically redressed by the electronic measurement system. An extensive mechanical adjustment of springs or levers for load calibration, as is commonplace with conventional systems, is not necessary.
User-friendly
EMCO-TEST developed ecos software opens up operation to every function of standard hardness testing. The special test pattern mode enables your personnel to execute complex tests with minimal training.
|
|

|
|
Complete data management
All the hardness testing data can be exported via the ecos export tool into ASCII format to be used in other applications or archived. Different export schemes with customisable data filters are limitlessly definable. A4 test reports can also be displayed clearly with all the relevant information, statistics and sample images from the overview camera.
Automation saves time
All necessary test methods are deposited in the software and can be selected by mouse-click. In combination with the 4-fold turret the correct indentor is swivelled-in automatically and the impression is measured with the most suitable lens. The automatic image analysis with fully automatic impression determination takes place within a few seconds and guarantees the highest degree of accuracy in repetition precision. In order to achieve quick image analysis a special autofocus system has been developed based on the principle of direct force measurement. The focussing level is recognised during the test run and focussing takes place without delay.
Universally applicable
The diverse application range of the M1C facilitates the execution of standard test processes due to its uniquely test load range up to 306.6 N (31.25 kgf). Conventional systems require at least two hardness testing machines to cover this wide test spectrum to an optimum.
